Grade VR 300 HH

VR 300 HH is a premium high-hardness pre-hardened mould steel designed for demanding plastic mould and tooling applications. It belongs to the P20-type mould steel family and offers an excellent combination of hardness, toughness, machinability, dimensional stability, and surface finish. Supplied in a pre-hardened condition, VR 300 HH eliminates the need for additional heat treatment in many mould applications, helping to reduce manufacturing time and minimize the risk of distortion.

One of the major advantages of VR 300 HH is its high and uniform hardness throughout the cross-section, providing consistent mechanical performance even in large mould blocks. The material is particularly suitable for moulds requiring higher wear resistance and longer service life compared with conventional pre-hardened mould steels.

Grade VR 300 HH Mould Steel

VR 300 HH offers excellent machinability for milling, drilling, EDM, and grinding operations, allowing mould components to be manufactured efficiently with reduced tool wear. Its fine and homogeneous microstructure provides good polishability and texturing characteristics, making it suitable for moulds requiring high-quality surface finishes for automotive, consumer, and industrial components.

The steel also provides good toughness and dimensional stability, helping to reduce the possibility of cracking and deformation during mould operation. VR 300 HH can be used for nitriding and other surface-hardening treatments where additional wear resistance is required. Overall, VR 300 HH is a reliable high-performance mould steel for applications where higher hardness, durability, and surface quality are important.
